Corte Madera Parks & Recreation is excited to announce that we will be returning as a Before & Afterschool Child Care Program for the 2021-2022 school year! Our highly skilled staff will provide a wide variety of activities including arts & crafts, sports, outdoor play, homework help, cooking, science, engineering, and much more!
CM Children's Centers mission is to be THE after school program that provides a safe environment where kids can relax, feel comfortable, have a quiet place to complete school work, and enjoy being a kid while sharpening their skills in after school interests, all within a protected, supportive, and encouraging environment. You can put your mind at ease knowing your child is being cared for by experienced and well qualified caregivers.

JUNE REGISTRATION
Registration for Corte Madera Children's Center will open on the 20th of each month. June registration runs from May 20th-June 1st. Our last day will be Thursday, June 9th!
Kindergarten Part Day: 2:00PM-2:50PM
Kindergarten part day allows campers 50 minutes of fun while providing parents with a great opportunity to have only one pick-up time for their children with siblings. Kindergarten part day will not be available on early release days taking place each Wednesday. If you need child care for these days please register for Kindergarten Full days. In addition, please keep in mind that CM Children's Center's last day will be Thursday, June 9th!

Kindergarten full day gives students the opportunity to hang with our great staff and their fellow school mates while they get to participate in our homework club, and our fun art and game activities. In addition, please keep in mind that CM Children's Center's last day will be Thursday, June 9th!
Aftercare for 1st-5th Grade: 2:50PM-6:00PM
Aftercare for 1st-5th graders gives students the opportunity to hang with our great staff and their fellow school mates while they get to participate in our homework club, and fun art and game activities. If your child needs additional school support, our team would be happy to provide assistance. In addition, please keep in mind that CM Children's Center's last day will be Thursday, June 9th!
LOCATED ON NEIL CUMMINS CAMPUS
We are located on the Neil Cummins campus in the portables G1 & G2 behind the gym. The orange arrow indicates the main entrance for CM Children's Center where parents can drop off and pick up their children each day.
Parking:
We recommend parking in the Town Park lot off of Pixley Avenue or in the Neil Cummins parking lot to easily access our portables.

This form and waivers are required in addition to online registration and waiver. Please return completed hard copies of this paperwork to Child Care Center Director, Alexandra Duran-Esparza upon the first day of enrollment.

POLICY & PROCEDURES
Refund Policy
If you would like to receive a full refund for selected days, please request it before the first day of enrollment for that month. In addition, we only provide refunds if an emergency takes place, due to COVID, or if quarantining when exposed! Unattended days do not qualify for refunds or credit!
On Time Pick-Up Policy (Effective January 3, 2022)
Corte Madera Children's Center closes promptly at 6:00PM. If you pick up your child after 6:00PM, you will be charged a late fee as follows:
- $20 for the first 10 minutes or less
- $10 for each additional 10 minutes or less
Absences
Please contact the Aftercare Director when your child will be absent for any reason. If your child leaves early from school for any reason and will not be attending the program, please contact the program, the school does not notify the center regarding absences or early departure.
COVID Protocols
CM Children's Center follows closely with the COVID protocols put in place by Neil Cummins Elementary School provided by the County.
January 12, 2022: Masks are mandatory indoors at all times for all students and staff in all public and private TK-12 schools and child care by state and county law. Masks are now recommended outdoors for all students and staff unless eating or drinking.
For All Our Extracurricular Activities Which Includes Our *After Care Program
- Children under Quarantine may not attend our programs.
- Children under Modified Quarantine may not attend our programs.
- Children who have received a notice stating that they are considered Close Contact may not attend our programs.
- Children who are deemed “Close Contact” because someone in their home has tested positive may not attend our programs.
When to Return to Programs:
- To return to our programs you need to test on day 5 and receive a negative test.
- Positive cases must quarantine for 1 week and can return after receiving a negative test.
- Tests done through the school meet our requirements for the day 5 test.
Advised Out of State Travel Policy
- Unvaccinated Children traveling out of state should perform a modified quarantine (may attend school but cannot attend aftercare or any afterschool activities) and test on day 5 after returning from being out of state.
- Fully Vaccinated Children are to monitor for symptoms without performing a modified quarantine.
*Public Health has categorized Corte Madera Children's Center as an "extracurricular activity"
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What kind of activities fo you do?
We have a variety of activities that include but are not limited to arts & crafts, sports, outdoor play, board games, cooking, science, engineering, homework help, etc!
How do the children get from NC school to the portables?
Kindergarteners are picked up from their classrooms and are walked to CM Children's Center, and first through fifth graders are expected to walk directly into the portables.
Will a snack be provided?
Snack will be provided between 3:30PM-4:00PM everyday. If your child has any food restrictions, please pack an extra snack with his or her lunch. If your child has an extra snack, he or she is more than welcome to eat it anytime throughout the day.
Will children be allowed to play on the playground during their time at aftercare?
Yes. We will be allowing children to play in the playground during their aftercare time this school year.

With a combined 15 years of experience working with kids and with Corte Madera Parks and Recreation, Alexandra Duran-Esparza and Alexandra Poretz have built deep relationships within the community and strive to maintain a safe and fun environment to nurture and grow kids curiosity, and create new memories, laughs and friends!

NOW HIRING
A child care counselor is responsible for supervising campers and keeping them safe. Their duties include teaching children outdoor and recreational skills, overseeing and executing camp activities and learning and implementing emergency protocol efforts to ensure the protection of campers.
Job Responsibilities:
- Organizing team games such as soccer, softball and basketball, explaining the rules and acting as referee or umpire throughout the game
- Leading activities such as crafts and art, demonstrating various techniques and encouraging children to come up with ideas
- Communicating with superiors and providing updates where required
- Provide basic first aid
- Providing guidance, motivation and support all for camp visitors
Job Skills and Qualifications:
- First aid training to be able to respond to minor injuries or illnesses
- Health and safety knowledge to help keep all campers safe
- Excellent communication skills to convey camp procedures to all visitors
- Leadership skills to guide and motivate campers throughout their stay
- Interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with campers under their care
- Caring and compassionate attitude when interacting with and caring for children
- Strong verbal communication and listening skills to converse with children, fellow professional caregivers and parents or guardians
- Excellent patience and stamina for keeping up with the demands of children of all ages
- Advanced multitasking and organizational skills to handle multiple children at a time
- Behavioral analysis and cognitive recognition abilities for anticipating and addressing potential interactions or issues
