Adam Wolff - Town Manager

Adam Wolff was promoted to the Town's Town Manager on December 6, 2022 after being appointed as Interim Town Manager at the July 19, 2022 Town Council meeting, after the resignation of prior Town Manager, Todd Cusimano. Prior to the his promotion, Adam had been the Director of Planning and Building for the Town of Corte Madera since 2014 where he oversaw land use and housing policy, development review, and private construction activities.  During the interim Town Manager contract period, Mr. Wolff will still oversee Planning Operations and will help facilitate growth within the Planning Department.

Prior to joining the Town, Adam spent almost 15 years in New York City, where he obtained a Master's degree in Urban Planning from Columbia University and began his career as a City Planner, eventually serving as Deputy Director of New York City’s Manhattan Office at the Department of City Planning.  Adam was raised in Mill Valley and is a graduate of Tam High.  He currently lives in Petaluma with his wife, Alicia, and three sons.

About the Position of the Town Manager and the Administration Department

The Town Manager works within the Administration Department. Under policy direction from the Town Council, the Town Manager plans, directs, manages and reviews the activities and operations of the Town of Corte Madera. He recommends policy to the Town Council and ensures that Council policies are carried out. Under his direction, highly responsible and complex administrative support is provided to the Town Council.

About the Planning and Building Departments

The Planning Department is responsible for land use planning, implementation and maintenance of the Zoning Ordinance and General Plan, and facilitating the land use application review process, including staffing for the Planning Commission.

The Building Department reviews building permit applications and plans for compliance with State and local building codes including structural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and energy efficiency. The department also provides inspection and code enforcement services for all building related construction.
