Short Term Rentals

A short-term rental is a furnished residential living space available for a stay of 30 days or less, usually through a company like AirBnB, VRBO, or FlipKey. On November 7, 2023 the Town Council adopted Ordinance 1031 establishing regulations for Short Term Rentals. The Ordinance is effective January 1, 2023.

How to Apply for a Short Term Rental (STR) License

  • Please contact the Planning Department prior to applying for a Short Term Rental so that property eligibility can be confirmed. Call 415-927-5064, email plcounter@tcmmail.org, or visit us in person.
  • Short Term Rental Application Package - includes the application form, three checklists that need to be submitted with your application, and a link to a template to create the required interior signage.
