The Town of Corte Madera opened the Town's first dog park on the east side of Corte Madera Town Park on June 29, 2020. The dog park includes a 15,000 square foot fenced in grass area, a dog wash station, drinking fountains for humans and dogs, a trash can, a doggy bag stand and three benches.
This project originated from many requests to the Town Council over the years to install a dog park in Corte Madera.
The Parks and Recreation Commission approved staff's recommendation to keep the dog park open this winter. Maintenance strategies will begin with adding mulch within the entrance of the park area to absorb any standing water and to minimize mud for owner and dog health and safety. Depending on the rain this season, additional strategies may include sectioning off areas to promote grass regrowth and drainage, and pursuing information on synthetic turf to be considered in 2021.
11/18/20: Please note that CMPA will be issuing citations for violations along the path at the east side of Town Park between the low canal and the residences on Mohawk. We appreciate your understanding and support.
