Introducing Our New Director of Coaching, Michael Sharp
Michael grew up playing soccer in Glasgow, Scotland, in the UK where he fell in love with the sport. His interests lead him to play competitive soccer throughout his childhood and into adulthood. As a youth player, he traveled to Europe to represent his region at highly regarded youth tournaments in France. He played in college and in a semi-pro league in both Scotland and in England prior to finishing his playing career in the San Francisco Soccer League.
Following 7 years working in San Francisco as a management consultant. Michael returned to Scotland in 2004, to take a position with the Scottish Football Association. Michael spent 3 years as a Regional Development Manager with the Scottish Football Association where he was responsible for implementing a national player development strategy in the southeast region of Scotland. Michael returned to the Bay Area in 2007 and became the Director of Coaching with Tiburon Soccer Club. In 2010 he turned his attentions to coaching and worked with both Mill Valley and Marin FC. In 2016 Michael was hired by Marin FC to coach one of the club's US Soccer Development Academy (USDA) team and in 2017 after gaining his A License was asked to coach a USDA boys and an Elite Club National League girls’ team with Marin FC. After many years of traveling, Michael has decided to join his wife and two children at Corte Madera FC this year as their new Director of Coaching.
