Californians and Their Gardens, 1800-1950: An Illustrated Talk by Author Judith M. Taylor

Presentations and Lectures

California may be the Golden State, but it is also a garden state. Innumerable gardens have been planted since the Europeans first arrived. The gold rush was the defining event, leading to enormous expenditures by newly rich miners.

Dr. Taylor’s talk will consider the simple but beautiful gardens created by waves of immigrants, as well as some of the large estates and parks.

This free event is cosponsored by Corte Madera Library and Corte Madera Parks & Recreation Department.

Registration is not required, however seating is limited.

This event will be held at the Corte Madera Library, 707 Meadowsweet Drive.
