Seniors in Balance

Seniors in Balance

This class will improve your balance, stability, and coordination through proven methods from Qigong, Tai Chi, and Western Mind/Body science. Research shows that Tai Chi is an excellent way for Seniors to develop balance and fluidity of movement; in this class you will be learning an easy, modified Tai Chi form. You will also practice brain stimulating techniques from Western Science to assist coordination and cognition. In addition, the Qigong movements and mind activity bring inner balance, relaxation, improved immunity, and overall wellbeing. These combined approaches are carefully orchestrated to work on all aspects of balance simultaneously. The class is appropriate for anyone with reasonable mobility who is motivated to maintain a good balance of spirit, mind  and body throughout their lives.

The class is offered on Thursdays, from 1:30PM to 2:30PM at the Corte Madera Community Center, 498 Tamalpais Drive.
For more information, please call 415-927-5072.

What's Happening in Marin
Marin County Parks

Marin County Parks invites you to join them at the Rush Creek Preserve for an interpretive walk.

This walk is for ages 18 and up. These tidal wetlands at the edge of San Pablo Bay are a fantastic place to appreciate our winter birds. Ducks (in gaudy breeding plumage), shorebirds, raptors, and many types of land birds should keep everyone entertained all day. The road sometimes gets quite muddy, so wear appropriate footwear. Remember to bring binoculars, if you have them. It is requested that no pets (except service animals) attend.

Rain may cancel. If questionable weather, call (415) 893-9527 after 8am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. No registration is required.
For questions, contact Shannon Burke at or (415) 893-9520.

The event will take place on Sunday, January 6, 2019 from 10AM to 2PM at Rush Creek Preserve. Meet at the Pinheiro Fire Road gate on Binford Road in Novato.
From Hwy 101 in Novato, take the exit for Atherton Avenue east. Turn left onto Binford Road. The gate is on the right. For more information, please click here
