The Town of Corte Madera's Newsletter for June 7, 2019
FREE Chipper Day

Help provide a more "fire-safe" community. Dispose of your brush, branches, and dead vegetation. This is also an opportunity to clear primary and secondary evacuations routes and roadways. Vegetation encroaching into the roadway or limiting visibility from driveways is more than a nuisance, it's a hazard.

For the safety of our workers, some regulations:

  • Collection is for “vegetation” waste only.  No lumber, appliances, trash, metal objects, batteries, hazardous waste, etc. will be accepted.
  • Stumps and poison oak will not be accepted.
  • Any small plant material that has been pulled out by the roots must be free of rocks and dirt or it will not be accepted.
  • No wire or metal of any kind may be mixed with the yard waste.
  • Proof of Corte Madera residency is required.
This FREE Chipper Weekend is scheduled for Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th from 8am to 3pm at The Cove School, 330 Golden Hind Passage. To view and share the event flyer, click here.

The Village at Corte Madera Center Court and East/South Parking Lot Renovations: Planning Commission Public Hearing 6/11/19

The Village at Corte Madera Center Court and East/South Parking Lot Renovations: Planning Commission Public Hearing 6/11/19

On Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at 7:00pm at Corte Madera Town Hall, the Planning Commission will hold a public hearing to review an application for renovations to the center court and east/south parking lot at the Village at Corte Madera. The public hearing notice can be viewed by clicking here.

The Planning Commission will review information, receive public comment, and potentially make a decision on a Design Review and Precise Plan Amendment Application. The application is for renovations to the Center Court that include a variety of seating areas, landscaping-including six large (42” to 132” box) specimen trees, new pavers, a fire pit and exterior lighting. The existing fountain will remain. The project also includes tree removal, site clearing and replanting of the eastern and southern parking lot areas. No modifications to the parking lot hardscape are proposed.

Please see the public notice for images of the proposed renovations to the center court and the areas of the parking lots to be replanted (page 2 of the notice). A complete application is available for review at the Planning Department upon request. If you have any questions, please call 415-927-5064.
